Residential Structure Fire with possible Entrapment: Chymes Way

November 4, 2005 “C” Watch- Sta.3, E-17, L-119 were dispatched to a reported residential structure fire on Chymes Way with multiple callers reporting possible entrapment.  E-319 arrived within 4 minutes to find heavy smoke and flames showing from the “A”/”D” corner.  E-319 quickly deployed a 1 ¾” pre-connect to the front door.  Upon forcing the front it was noted that the front living room was fully involved after a quick knockdown the nozzle man entered the house and proceeded to extinguish the remaining fire on the “D” side of the structure.  While this was taking the place the officer went to the rear door to check for victims/ force the door, while the back-up FF checked the two bedrooms on the “D” side of the house.  After a complete search of the house (several times) it was determined that no one was home. E-17 arrived on scene and supplied their tank water to E-319, while L-119 checked for any possible fire plus performed a secondary search (negative results).
